My pet dog won't go for a walk
He is used to being taken to the beach a few times a week as part of his
exercise. However now that it is the holidays l can take him walking
everyday which l do at night. Also have during the day. But
when l take him for a walk, as soon as we are out of the house gate he
sits and wo not budge even if l encourage him with treats. Pulling on the
lead wo not help as he will remain there to the point the collar actually
flies off (its not that tight I am not trying to strangle him). But as soon as l turn around and start walking back to the house he will come, turn around in the way of a walk and he will sit tight again. l think its because he thinks he going to the beach in the car which he loves. What can l do to make him go for a walk? This will be the only exercise hes getting for a while so has to pull in somehow. l thought of bringing car keys along the walk and jangling them when he stops, but thought that might make him wanna go back even more.
If he is small enough start picking him up and carry him down
the road and let him walk back. If not then you will most likely need to
get in touch with a trainer to help with you with some training
techniques.

Buy a harness for your dog! It is secure, it won't slip off,
and it won't strangle your dog. What about the ocean does your dog like?
The smell? The sand? Maybe you can ''try to bring the ocean to your
house.'' Hope you find a way!
